It’s our biggest party of the year and funds raised by the Buckman Foundation at our annual auction are critical to maintain staffing for our Arts Focus program. Please join us!

The artist application deadline is January 13 at 4:30pm, with a nonrefundable application fee, which helps to cover expenses for the event. All accepted artists donate 30% of their proceeds to the Buckman PTA.

With each ticket ($30 through January 28; $50 thereafter), you’ll enjoy hors d’oeuvres, one drink ticket, party games, a cash bar, a silent auction and a live auction of priceless original artwork created by our own Buckman classrooms, travel and leisure packages, and much more.

The evening winds up with a a fabulous after party beginning at 10pm with live music by Portland’s own Run On Sentence!

Help us reach our Buckman Foundation’s fundraising goal of $150,000 to help maintain our arts program! Purchase tickets, donate items, and bid in the live and silent auctions at the event!

Pick your distance: a two- or five-mile run. This is a non-competitive event–all speeds and abilities are welcome, as are children in strollers and on scooters, bikes, or foot. Runs start and end at Buckman, and light refreshments will be served after the runs.

Corin Tucker (formerly of Sleater-Kinney) kicked off the performed a not-to-be-missed concert at the Mississippi Studios, with bands Old Light and Zoo Animal. All reports indicate that Corin electrified the audience with songs from her recently released, critically acclaimed solo album.

Upcoming shows include Flickathon, a mini film festival at the Mission Theater, and more music at The Spare Room and The Woods.

This 21-year tradition features the original artwork of approximately 140 artists and craftspersons, including paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, textile and other wearable art, toys, and much more, in a fun festival setting. A student gallery showcases the work of Buckman students and alumni. Food, live music and hands-on art activities for kids make the Buckman Art Show & Sell a fantastic event for the whole family. Welcome! This site provides information on the Buckman Parent-Teacher Association and the Buckman Foundation, two parent groups working to support Buckman Arts Focus Elementary School through fundraising, classroom support, community building and volunteerism.

This site also provides information on our school’s largest fundraising events are the Buckman Auction (which benefits the Buckman Foundation and provides funding for staff) and the Buckman Art Show & Sell (which benefits the Buckman PTA and provides funding for play equipment, art supplies, and many other essential items and services).

At Buckman, every parent, staff member, and student is valued and celebrated.
