The Annual Buckman Auction Kicks Off at 6pm on June 4!

It’s time for our biggest fundraiser of the year: the Buckman Auction!
The auction catalog is online NOW, so visit buckmanauction.org to check it out! Join us with our very own Ms. Seidel and Ms. Rudnick for the Virtual Kickoff via Google Meet @6pm on Friday June 4. Bidding will officially begin following the kickoff at 6:30pm, and will end on Saturday, June 5 at 9pm, just over 24 hours later!
Register in advance, credit card required. After you have signed up, grab a complimentary beer from our delightful sponsors at West Coast Grocery and save it for the auction toast at the Google Meet auction kickoff!

Golden Tickets sales are open, $50 per ticket. The winner of the Golden Ticket raffle will win the getaway package of their choosing. Winner must be at the Kickoff to select package. More details are available on the Golden Ticket page. Golden Ticket sales will close on June 4 at 5pm, one hour before the auction kickoff begins!

Buckman Year-End Ask Campaign Has Launched!

Every year, the Buckman Foundation turns to the school community to ask for direct donations to support arts and literacy staffing at our school. The Year-End Ask campaign launches on #GivingTuesday, an international day of giving, and runs until December 31.

Please consider making your contribution. Giving is easy: drop of a check in the Foundation mailbox or give online at allhandsraised.org (be sure to select “PPS” and then “Buckman School” from the drop-downs). You can spread out your gift into monthly payments or make a one-time contribution.

Giving at any level helps! If we reach 75 donors – of any amount – our Challenge Match sponsors have agreed to contribute $8,500 collectively to the school! A gift of $5 can make all the difference.

Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year!

A warm welcome to the a new school year to Buckman families, friends, and community members! We’re excited to get the 2018-2019 school year underway and are looking forward to a fun-filled back-to-school season.

Some students have started their school supplies shopping, the PTA and Foundation are already at work getting welcome packets in order, and Buckman staff will be returning to school tomorrow to begin preparing for the school year.

If you are new to Buckman, you will be getting tons of information shortly! In the meantime, a few resources that might be valuable include:

  • This website! This is a parent-run site that keeps the Buckman community informed on school events, fundraisers, and other updates. Of particular interest is the events calendar; subscribe to the feed (use the “Subscribe” link in the bottom-right corner of the calendar) to get Buckman updates to your calendar of choice.
  • Two Facebook options: one is the Buckman Elementary Facebook page (also parent-run) which provides ongoing info about school happenings throughout the school year. The other is the Buckman Facebook Community Group. Request to join to interact with other Buckman families and community members.
  • The official PPS Buckman Elementary page. This is a great resource for finding teacher contact information, school newsletter arches, and district information.
  • The school newsletter comes out on Wednesdays to your designated email. Look for it soon! It gives you more detailed information about specific events, as well as contributions from SUN program offerings.
