November Dines Out: Por Que No?

’Tis the season for a spooky Halloween raffle!
In lieu of our traditional Bowl-A-Ween event, we’re hosting an online raffle to raise funds for the Buckman Foundation. Enter for a chance to win a fall getaway of your choice: three nights at the Astoria House or a camping-in-style adventure in the Scamp Trailer.
Tickets are $20 each; all funds raised will go towards staffing positions at Buckman for the 2021-2022 school year. Buy 5 tickets, get one free!
BONUS: get one free entry by sharing your family’s fall or Halloween art! Share your entry in the Buckman Community Facebook group (request to join, if you haven’t already!) or send an email with an attached photo to foundation@buckmanelementary.org.

Welcome to October! With a new month comes a new Dines Out; this month’s edition is on October 14 at Ankeny Tap and Table (2724 SE Ankeny St) from 4-8pm.
Enjoy the “best burger in Portland” or opt instead for one of their vegetarian options. Patio seating and takeout options are available, and an incredible 20% of all proceeds go to the Foundation!

It’s our first Buckman Dines Out of the 2020-2021 school year! Order pick-up or delivery from neighborhood favorite Screen Door, any time from 11 am to 8pm on Wednesday, September 23, and Screen Door will donate 10% of proceeds to the Buckman Foundation! Offer is available only until food runs out; pre-orders highly encouraged.

We’re taking the Buckman Auction online! While we can’t meet in person, we can still support the people who are a critical part of our school: the staff who make Buckman Buckman! We’re getting creative with our auction this year, now scheduled as a week-long online event launching May 15th and culminating with a school-wide virtual gathering for the final hour of the auction on May 21st.
We’ll be launching the auction with Zoom kick off parties on May 15 where you can learn about virtual and traditional auction items and packages, including lots of great activities with teachers, and learn the ins and outs of the bidding process while connecting with other parents. We’re looking for kick off party hosts in every grade, or even every class. If you are interested in being a Zoom host, please reach out to the team at auction@buckmanelementary.org!
You do need to sign up and register a credit card in order to bid in the auction, but registration is easy and free! And better yet, our amazing auction sponsor West Coast Grocery is offering a free 16 oz. beer of your choice to every registrant, pick up from May 11-15th.
BUCKMAN DINES OUT! Every Tuesday in March from 4pm-8pm at Sammich PDX! 10% of your tab benefits the Buckman Foundation. Good eats for a good cause! Sandwiches are made with the best ingredients and house-smoked meats, including what might possibly be the best pastrami in the nation, brined and made in-house. GF & veg options. Enjoy!
Year-End Ask is on! This is Buckman annual campaign to ask members of the Buckman community to support our Foundation. This year, the Buckman Foundation aims to raise enough funds to continue to have a Therapeutic Intervention Coach position at Buckman again next year, a position fully-funded by the efforts of the Buckman Foundation and hundreds of members of the community who support it.
Good news: If 75 people give at any level before December 31, a group of Buckman families has pledged to give an additional $11,100 to Buckman! Make your gift today – no amount is too small!
